Lenovo teased a Legion Go 2 prototype at CES 2025 and it features all the same functionality as the original Legion Go model with improvements. At the moment it was shown as a prototype and Lenovo mentioned that the “final production details are still being refined.”
Legion Go 2
The Legion Go 2 will feature the Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, support for up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, up to 2TB of SSD storage and a larger 74Wh battery (up from 49.2Wh). It has a 8.8-inch native portrait OLED HDR display with 500 nits of brightness, 144Hz refresh rate and VRR. The screen resolution was downgraded to 1920×1200 from 2560×1440 which is a smart idea in my opinion as the original Legion Go struggled to play games at that resolution natively unless it was an indie game.
It’s not final but the prototype shows a rounder device at the bottom corners, a circular d-pad, more face buttons to map and better grips on the back of the detachable handles. It was also stated the detachable controllers from the Legion Go 1 will work with the Legion Go 2 and vice versa. The Legion Go 2 detachable controllers also have a usb-c port inside of them so you can charge them individually. The Go 2 will have improved bigger speakers and they are looking to use Nahimic audio for enhancement. The Go 2 ships with a 2242 SSD but it will support 2280 SSD’s. They have plans to add a fingerprint reader as well.
There is no price or set release date but expect it to release later this year.
