How To Use Lossless Scaling On The Legion Go

Lossless Scaling is a software application that provides alternative upscaling and frame generation options for games. This allows you get some extra frames on the Legion Go although performance may vary depending on the game. Using this can also lead to artifacting.

This is an alternative option to get frame generation if the game doesn’t have built in support. Lossless Scaling cost $6.99, you can buy it on Steam here.

How To Use Lossless Scaling On The Legion Go

There’s a variety of different configurations to use Lossless Scaling but these are the settings I use.

  • Open up the Lossless Scaling application. This needs to be open in the background for it to work in a game.
  • In order for this to work in game. You must set the game you’re playing to Windowed or Borderless mode. Native fullscreen won’t work with Lossless Scaling.
  • These are the settings I use but feel free to use what works best for you. My resolution scale is set anywhere between 65 to 100 depending on the game.

Framerate Limiter

  • If you’re screen refresh rate is set to 144hz you can framerate cap your Legion Go for a smoother experience to either 36, 48, or 72 in the Legion Space quick access menu or with a third party software like RTSS. If your game is hovering near 36 FPS set your framerate cap to that and vice versa for 48 or 72 FPS.

  • I prefer using RTSS to limit my FPS because I can enable AMD Anti-Lag alongside it in the AMD Software to reduce latency caused by the Frame Generation.
