Steam Game Recording is a built-in feature in Steam that allows you to record and edit your gameplay footage directly within Steam. This eliminates the need for third-party recording software, making it a easy and accessible tool for capturing and sharing your gaming moments on your Legion Go.
How To Use Steam Game Recording On The Legion Go
- Open up Steam. Click the Steam button at the top left of your screen and click Settings.
- When inside the Steam Settings, click Game Recording at the bottom left tab.

- Valve gives you the option to either Record in the Background so you don’t miss out on any cool moments like an instant replay. You can adjust the amount of seconds a clip is saved as. The other option is Record Manually which let’s you start and stop recording with a press of a button. For this guide I will be using the Record Manually option but everything I’ll show you will work with the other option as well.

- There are plenty of options for you to adjust including the key to start/stop recording, recording quality and where your recordings will be saved on your Legion Go.

- The default shortcut command to Start/stop recording is
Ctrl+F11, I changed it to.The Legion Go allows you to create custom button mapping in Legion Space using the extra buttons so I’m going to create one for this command. - Open up Legion Space. Press RB to go to the Controllers tab. Click Button Mapping. Click View/Edit Layout under GamePad.
- Press RB to go the rear view buttons, select the M2 button. Press RB and select Keyboard. Select
.Then press Y to confirm the command. - Now you can manual record a game by pressing the M2 when you’re playing a game launched through Steam.
View & Edit Your Clips
- Open up Steam. Click the Steam button at the top left of your screen and click Settings.
